THE WOOLSEY FIRE 2018 – PARAMOUNT RANCH

As the Woolsey Fire of 2018 took its toll on places from mid-Ventura through Malibu, Simi Valley and West Hills and many places in between, one of the losses was the State Park known as Paramount Ranch; often referred to as Western Town. This area was a popular film set for years, and behind it lay an old race track that not many people visit, but is still historical. I was given access to take photos of the disaster the day after Thanksgiving and there was little left to see. Two structures still stand, as seen below.

I had shot the SoCal Burn Ride last year at Paramount Ranch, and while I don’t have exact photo matches, here’s an idea of some of the loss from pics I took at the event.
